Kentucky Christian College’s Concert Choir will come to Ironton this Saturday, featuring gospel choir numbers that have become nationally famous.

The concert will be the third scheduled performance of the Ironton Council for the Arts 20th Anniversary Platinum Concert Season, said Bruce Davis, publicity chairman.

"KCC has a wonderful choir and we are lucky to have them in Ironton," Davis said.

The concert will begin at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Ohio University Southern Campus Bowman Auditorium. The concert is sponsored by Aristech chemical.

Tickets for the concert will be available at the door at a rate of $6 for adults, and, $5 for students and seniors.

The KCC Concert Choir is the premiere vocal ensemble at the college.

Consisting primarily of upperclassmen, the choir tours twice yearly, performing at churches, conventions and conferences.

The choir has performed four concerts in Carnegie Hall – two under the direction of English composer/conductor John Rutter and two under the direction of Dr. Mark Deakins.

Among the Concert Choir’s recorded numbers are "His Eye Is On the Sparrow," "Blessed Jesus," and "Carol of the Bells."
