Children gathered at the Briggs Lawrence County Southern Branch Library in South Point to learn about Laura Ingalls Wilder and celebrate her birthday Wednesday. The author would have been 144 years old and she is famous for her "Little House" book-series, of which the television series "Little House on the Prairie" originated. A children-version biography about Wilder was read to the children. Recipes from the "Little House Cook Book" were used to make lemonade and heart-shaped cakes similar to Wilder’s favorite snacks and served to the children. Pictured, two-year-old Bethany Moore and her mother Patricia Moore, as they enjoy making an autograph book like that of Wilder’s time.
