Using a complete team effort, Rock Hill ruined the Fairland Lady Dragons hopes of an unbeaten Ohio Valley Conference record as the Redwomen held on for a 54-51 win Thursday.

Jordan Edwards had 28 points and Bobbie Clark had seven rebounds and four blocked shots to lead Rock Hill to the upset win. Ashley Harris had a career-high 13 points to go along with two steals.

Rock Hill coach Amy Hughes said the win was a team effort.

"All 13 girls contributed to this," said Hughes. "All the girls were into it, even the ones who didn’t play. The non-starters all practiced extremely hard getting us ready to play and then they cheered their hearts out during the game. It’s that kind of attitude that made the difference tonight."

Rock Hill finished the regular season 14-6 and 5-3 in the OVC. Fairland is now 16-2 and ends the league race as champions with a 7-1 record.

Brooke Fisher had 13 points, four assists, and two steals for Fairland. Ashley Harris had 12 points, seven rebounds, and three assists, and Jennifer Jones added 10 points and seven rebounds.

"We didn’t play well and Rock Hill played hard," Fairland coach Nathan Speed said.

The Lady Dragons were just 20-of-55 from the field for 36.4 percent.

Fisher scored nine points the first quarter to more than offset six by Edwards as Fairland went in front 15-12.

But Edwards scored eight points the second quarter and Rock Hill was down 24-22 at the break.

Rock Hill’s Ashley Harris scored nine points the third quarter and the Redwomen trailed 39-38.

Edwards came back to scored nine in the fourth quarter. Rock Hill was just 7-of-16 from the line the fourth quarter and watched a 10-point lead with a minute to play nearly evaporate.

But Edwards and Clark were able to hold the Redwomen together for the win.

"Jordan is on a roll. Bobbie Clark played tremendous defense. She was everywhere blocking shots and helping on the block," said Hughes.

"Ashley Harris shot the ball really well and was diving on the floor. The Bamers (Monica and Marie) came off the bench and played well defensively. Rachel (Hartwig) does the small things that you don’t notice. She may not get blocks, but she makes people change shots. And Miranda (Edwards) did a good job running the team and controlled the offense well, made good passes, and didn’t turn the ball over."
