PROCTORVILLE- Hold on. If you think Saturday night’s game between the Fairland Lady Dragons and Ironton Lady Fighting Tigers was a thriller, there may be a sequel.

Fairland overcame a second half surge by Ironton and rallied for a 48-47 win to finish the regular season 17-2, matching last year’s school record for wins in the regular season.

The two teams could meet again. Fairland meets Coal Grove at 6:15 p.m. Wednesday in the Division III sectional at Rock Hill, and Ironton plays Wheelersburg in the second game. If the two teams win, they would meet in the sectional finals on Saturday afternoon.

Senior Ashley Harris finished her career with a big game, scoring 12 points and grabbing 14 rebounds for the Lady Dragons. Jeana Diamond added nine points.

Ironton (13-5) was led by senior Jessica Ensor with a game-high 19 points and Noelle Mains scored 11.

Fairland led 12-7 after the first quarter and 25-16 at the half. But Ironton came out strong the third quarter and outscored the Lady Dragons 21-9 to take a 37-34 lead.

The Lady Dragons then rallied in the fourth quarter to edge Ironton.
