Grand jurors indicted a South Point man Tuesday, accusing him in the alleged November robbery of Speedway in Burlington, Lawrence County Prosecutor J.B. Collier Jr. said.

Eric R. Lawson, 22, of Fourth Street and Perry Hollow, South Point, was indicted on a charge of aggravated robbery with a firearm specification, a first-degree felony, Collier said.

The Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department received a burglary alarm call from Burlington Speedway on Wal-Mart Way at 2:15 a.m. Nov. 23. Deputies arrived on the scene at 2:21 a.m. and found an attendant behind the counter, bleeding from the head area.

The attendant reported one of two white males pointed a gun at her and said, "Give me your money," according to Sgt. Randy Goodall’s report.

The suspects left with cash and cigarettes, according to the report.

Meeting Monday and Tuesday, the Lawrence County Grand Jury returned 16 other indictments. As filed, indictments represent only a formal charge, and do not indicate a court judgment. The other indictments are:

– Charles E. Ferris, 38, of 593 Ohio 218, Scottown: on a charge of breaking and entering, fifth-degree felony.

– Jesse Dement, 25, of Ohio 218, Scottown: on a charge of breaking and entering, fifth-degree felony. He is a co-defendant with Ferris.

– Joshua T. Richards, 18, of 103 Keith Ave., South Point: on one count of burglary, second-degree felony; and two counts of grand theft, fourth-degree felonies.

– Billy R. Leadingham, 57, of 545 County Road 1, South Point: on a charge of felonious assault, second-degree felony; and two counts of domestic violence, first-degree misdemeanors.

– William F. Fluty, 33, of 1305 West New Buckley St., Ashland, Ky.: on a charge of driving under the influence, having four priors within the last six years, fourth-degree felony.

– Kathy Ritter, 45, of 801 S. Seventh St., Ironton: on a charge of theft by deception, fourth-degree felony.

– Raymond McDonald, 32, of 40 Township Road 185, Chesapeake: on a charge of theft by deception, fifth-degree felony.

– James C. Middleton, 21, of 175 N. Locust Hill, Apt. 1414, Lexington, Ohio: on a charge of driving under the influence, having three priors within six years, fourth-degree felony.

– Christina J. Warren, 22, of 3981 Bushnell Circle West, Columbus: on two counts of theft by deception, fifth-degree felonies; and one count attempt to commit theft by deception, fifth-degree felony.

– Charles V. Bentley, 55, County Road 1, South Point: on a charge of burglary, second-degree felony.

– Curtis L. Martin, 27, of 14808 Wisconsin St., Detroit, Mich.: on a charge of possession of crack cocaine, fourth-degree felony; and a charge of preparation of crack cocaine for sale, fourth-degree felony.

– Five secret indictments naming five individuals on charges of nonsupport.
