Or, to go back to reminisce these exciting days of dancing? How about those poodle skirts? Dick Clark and American Bandstand, Elvis, Chubby Checker and the Twist… and, hey, don’t forget Benny Goodman. These and more can bring back some memories.

St. Joseph Central Catholic High School will provide the entertainment with its 25th annual Variety Show, "Dancing in the Streets." There will be different dance types and styles from past decades.

This year will be a special treat. Alumni from past performances will be in this year’s show. Tim Yaniko, a St. Joe alumnus who will be performing in the show, remembers when it all began.

"I sang in the barber shop quartet and was in comedy skits," he said.

He even played the girl in South Pacific… "the sailors were played by girls," he said.

"I think the play is a nice tradition and glad they have kept it going," Yaniko said.

The show will be March 15-17 at St. Joe High School in the gym, beginning at 8 p.m. Saturday night is dinner theatre night and reservations must be made.

Cost for the event is $5 for adults and $3 for children under 10.

Reservations for Saturday night are limited (there are only about 50 reservations). Reservations can be made by calling 532-0485.

Also, any alumni wishing to perform in the show may call the number above.

The production, "Dancing in the Streets," is under the direction of Jennifer Rogers.

"The show is all volunteer," said Rogers. "We have parents helping by making costumes and anything else we need them to do."
