The musicians have performed at Rock Hill High School and on Thursday, performed for fellow musicians, band members, at Symmes Valley High School. The group has also performed at the Ashland Town Center Mall in Ashland, Ky., and in the Ironton Christmas parade.

Glenda Bogar, the group’s director, said there is some competition to become a bell choir member. She said about 35 students audition for the group in September and only 21 members, plus an alternate, is chosen for the musical group.

At the Symmes Valley concert, the group played four popular tunes including, "Take Me Out To the Ballgame" and "When I See You Smile."

The choir received a standing ovation from the Symmes Valley students, with a request for an encore. The choir members then spent time after the concert talking to members of the audience.

Bogar said, "the students practice for a long time and try very hard to concentrate and to do their very best."

She added, "I think they do an outstanding job."
