Teams of volunteers – young and old – will walk around the track at Dawson-Bryant High School in Coal Grove celebrating the hard-won success in the war against cancer and looking forward to eliminating cancer as a major health problem.

The Relay will raise money for the American Cancer Society, which will use the money from our local event to fund research into the causes and potential cures for cancer, to sponsor educational programs locally to prevent cancer, advocate on the national and state levels to move cancer-control issues into the public-health debate and provide service to local victims of cancer and their families.

Without the generosity of those who have donated their time and money to Relay, the work of the American Cancer Society could not go forward.

It’s still not to late for you to add your support to the local effort. The Relay For Life committee has invited everyone to attend Relay events. There will be entertainment and activities open to all. There’s never a dull moment at a Relay For Life.

So please come out tonight or tomorrow morning to see what Relay is all about. And next year, we are sure you’ll want to be a part of this uplifting fund-raising effort.
