The South Point Lady Pointers tournament run ended Sunday when they lost 4-1 to the Sheridan Lady Generals in the Division II Southeast district championship.

South Point (23-4) won its first three tournament games including a 3-2 district semifinal victory Tuesday over Vincent Warren. The championship game was originally scheduled Friday but rained washed it away twice forcing the finals to be played Sunday.

Sarah Baise had a double to drive in the Lady Pointers only run in the fourth inning.

Tara Layne suffered the loss. She allowed just five hits, struck out seven and walked four.

The seven strikeouts gave her 250 for the season.

Sheridan (20-6) advances to the regionals Friday.
