As they have each year, parade committee members, division commanders, float drivers, bands, color guards and scores of other participants will line up early monday Morning, waiting for the official 10 a.m. start, rain or shine.

After brief ceremonies at the corner of the courthouse – Fourth and Center streets – the banner will move forward.

The theme of the parade this year is "God Bless America." Veteran Jerry Kerns will serve as grand marshal. Sue Lunsford will serve as parade commander.

At 10:20 a.m., if the weather holds, paradegoers will see and hear a special treat.

The Ohio Air National Guard’s 178th Fighter Wing out of Springfield will conduct a flyover of the Memorial Day parade at that time.

The 178th Fighter Wing flies F-16 Falcons, piloted by Lt. Col. Wallace, Maj. Markovich and Maj. Carpenter. More than 800 men and women serve in the Ohio Air National Guard (1-800-GO-GUARD).
