Greg Lennert, the Coolville man charged with the March 27 robbery of Lawrence Federal Savings Bank in Proctorville, will serve eight years in prison.
Lennert, 31, of 23226 Jordan Run Road, Coolville, pleaded guilty in Lawrence County Common Pleas Court on Wednesday to aggravated robbery, a first-degree felony, said Lawrence County Prosecutor J.B. Collier Jr.
He was sentenced to eight years in prison and ordered to pay court costs, Collier said.
In March, Lawrence County Sheriff Tim Sexton said Lennert showed bank employees a fake grenade during the robbery. Lennert was apprehended after a chase through Huntington, W.Va., that resulted in an accident. The U.S. District Attorney’s office chose not to file federal charges in the case.
