CHESAPEAKE – Danny Horace knows it’s an all-star game. He also knows what’s at stake.
Exhibition game or not, Horace wants only one thing from the Ohio-West Virginia All-Star Series and that is to win.
"I just try to get better and try to win," Horace said. "The whole concept is to win and to try and give the crowd a good showing."
Horace helped Ohio win in the annual Ohio-Kentucky All-Star Game nearly two months ago.
"We had some good players, but we’ll have a good team here," Horace said.
Ohio will have a good team with Horace on the roster along with Wright State signee Malcom Andrews, Akron recruit Bryan Hipsher, and Chesapeake’s Anthony Delimpo who is headed for Mt. Vernon.
Horace settled on Miami of Ohio after being recruited by Duquesne, Marquette, East Carolina, Nebraska, Alabama-Birmingham, and Marshall.
The Cincinnati Western Hills product was not recruited by Cincinnati.
"(Cincinnati) didn’t recruit me, but it didn’t matter. The only thing I wanted was to stay close to home and I’m close to home with Miami," Horace said. "I’m excited about Miami. I like the coach and the players. I thought I fit in."
