A memorial ceremony will be held Tuesday to mark the fifth anniversary of the Scottown fireworks tragedy.

The Huntington, W.Va., Eagles and American Legion Post 640 of Chesapeake will participate in a 5 p.m. flag ceremony to honor those who died and those who suffered in the wake of the July 3, 1996, fire.

The fire killed nine people and injured 11 others at Ohio River Fireworks in Scottown.

Tuesday’s ceremony will be held at the stone memorial in Scottown.
