Cooke was crowned queen during a ceremony held at the fairgrounds on Monday evening. Serving on Cooke’s court will be first runner-up Erica Burroughs, a junior at South Point High School, and Carrie Collier, a sophomore at Ohio University.

Cooke and her court will be busy throughout the week as they host and attend various fair activities.

The fair royalty started their official duties yesterday, riding in the fair parade that kicked off Monday evening’s events.

Youth involved in the many 4-H clubs in the county and their adult leaders made their trek in front of the grandstand to show off their artistic side, displaying the creative way to visually demonstrate ideas of 4-H. Each club was rated by a panel of judges and will receive awards for their work and effort.
