Drum and bugle corps from across the nation marched through Huntington, W.Va. yesterday bringing with them the sound, pageantry and precision marching hallmark to Drum Corps International competition at Drums Across the Tri-State. spectators filled the stadium to watch the 23rd anniversary of the competition in the Mountain State. The drum corps from Jacksonville State University, "Spirit," is pictured above performing during the competition. The corps, "Vanguard" from Santa Clara, Calif.

won the open class competition and "Thunder" from Tampa Bay, Fla. won the Big Band class. The Vanguard is a six-time DCI World Champion group.
