There have been a lot of titles this summer for the Diamond Dusters girls softball team, but there’s one more major title still in their sights: The 16-and-under ASA National Class A championship.

The Huntington-base Diamond Dusters team will play in the national tournament Aug. 6-12 in Normal, Ill.

Local girls on the team include Ashley Carmon and Maria Frazer of Ironton, Sarah Baise of South Point, and Jennifer Jones of Proctorville.

The Diamond Dusters are known for their execution, enthusiasm, and strong desire to win which has enabled them to be overachievers.

To date, the Diamond Dusters were West Virginia state runners-up in the 18-and-under tournament, regional runners-up in the 16-and-under tournament, Class B champions and a berth in the national qualifier, Ohio state regional champions for 16-and-under, and champions of the 180 division in the Carolina Classic.
