With an eye in the sky and police officers on the ground, deputies and police officers in Scioto County are checking the fields for marijuana plants before the autumn harvest of the illegal drug. Deputies estimate 1,036 plants were destroyed by the officers during a recent three-day search for the substance in southeastern Scioto County, near the Lawrence County border, and in other Scioto County areas.
