Backyard barbecues, swimming, fishing and boating will be the events of the weekend and with all of the festivities, there will be an increase in the amount of travelers on the road. Statistically speaking, with more travelers there is an increased chance for accidents.

Most accidents are preventable if drivers use caution and pay attention. It’s easy to get distracted when you’re driving – cell phones ringing, passengers talking, kids screaming and thinking about all of the work waiting for you back at the office when you go back to work on Tuesday. But it’s important for drivers to remember their primary role – driving.

Simply put, be careful. Watch the speed limits, pay attention to other drivers and don’t drink and drive so you and your family can have a good weekend together.
