The VFW Post 8850 Color Guard will once again kickoff the parade this year on Monday. Frank McCown was named division commander and the Ironton High School band will usher in this year’s Grand Marshal, Don Mootz.

The parade starts at Second and Railroad St., making its way down Adams St. and down Third St. The parade ends at Center St. The parade route will go about 12 blocks. The parade begins at 7 p.m. This year’s theme for the parade is, "Peace on Earth."

The parade is sponsored by the Ironton Business Association and according to Lou Pyles, the parade coordinator, the event helps showcase downtown merchants.
