After winning its first five games including a victory over Portsmouth, Rock Hill lost its first game 57-46 in overtime Thursday.

"Defensively we didn’t box out from the beginning and that was the difference.

Rachel Hartwig scored 13 points and five rebounds to lead a balanced Rock Hill attack. Courtney Doughman had 11 points and eight rebounds and Marie Bamer added 10 points and five rebounds.

Miranda Edwards had five steals and Jordan Edwards four.

Ali Hull scored 16 points to pace Portsmouth. Larika McGinnis scored 11 and Kendra Hull 10 for the Trojans.

The Redwomen play at 6 p.m. Saturday at Boyd County High School.

"We’ve got Boyd County Saturday and they’re awful good. We’re extreme underdogs. We’ll see how we bounce back. But playing good teams should make us better," said Hughes.
