Plans for this year’s legislative trip are already in the works.

In February, the legislative committee of the Greater Lawrence County Area Chamber of Commerce set the date for ninth-annual trip to Columbus at May 14.

Trip-goers will meet at 6:45 a.m. to catch a bus at the Ironton Hills Shopping Center. Attendees will gather at the Riffe Center for meetings on Economic Development, Department of Jobs and Family Services and the Ohio Department of Transportation.

At 11:30 a.m., participants will leave for a noon-time Statehouse luncheon where Gov. Taft has been invited to be the keynote speaker.

Cost for the trip is $35 per person and there are 100 seats available.
