CATLETTSBURG, Ky. – Kentucky State Police are investigating the death of an Ironton man at the Boyd County jail Friday evening.

According to a media release issued by Boyd County jailer Bob Stevens, William Roger Jackson, 57, was found unconscious in a holding cell at the jail shortly before 10 p.m. Deputy jailers said he apparently hung himself. He was taken to King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, but was pronounced dead a short time later.

Jackson was arrested by Ashland Police Friday evening on a charge of being a fugitive from justice from the state of Ohio. The original charge against him was felony domestic violence.
