OAK HARBOR -- John C. Lane, 94, of Oak Harbor died Sunday at his home, after a sudden illness.
He was the husband of the late Ruth E. Williams Lane.
He owned and operated a newspaper distribution center in Oak Harbor for over 30 years, distributing the Port Clinton News-Herald, the Toledo Blade and the Cleveland Plain Dealer to area carriers. He attended St. Johns Evangelical Lutheran Church in Oak Harbor.
He also was preceded in death by a daughter, Janet Zabawski.
Survivors include a son, John Lane of Bellevue; nine grandchildren; and three sisters, Mabel Hiberly and Irene Lane, both of Ironton, and Rauline Lane of South Carolina.
Friends may call 2-4 p.m. Friday at Crosser Funeral Home in Oak Harbor. Funeral services will be at noon Saturday at O'Keefe-Baker Funeral Home in Ironton, with George Williams officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Ironton. Visitation will be one hour before the service at O'Keefe-Baker Funeral Home. Memorials may be sent to the charity of one's choice.
