James Pauley

Nov. 9, 1922-May 18, 2002 James LeRoy Pauley, 79, of Ironton died Saturday at Southern Ohio Medical Center in Portsmouth.

The Logan County, W.Va., native was born Nov. 9, 1922, the son of the late James Ellison and Martha Estep Pauley.

He was retired from a roofing company in Detroit, Mich. He attended Logan County schools and was a Protestant. He had also lived in Florida, after his retirement, then moved to Springfield, before moving to Ironton four years ago.

He also was preceded in death by four sisters, Helen Crum, Merle Mayhew, Adena Pack and Nina Mullins; and two brothers, Eldon Pauley and Kenneth Pauley.

Survivors include three sisters, Imogene Willis and Patsy Jones, both of Ironton, and Betty Faye Cooper of Marion; and four brothers, Willie Cecil Pauley of Onalaska, Texas, Dennis Lowell Pauley of Petal, Miss., Ray Eugene Pauley of Cameron, N.C., and Terry Jay Pauley of Ironton.

Graveside service was 10 a.m. today at Hanging Rock Cemetery, with the Rev. Rodney Adkins officiating. There will be no visitation. Phillips Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
