May 29, 1941-May 20, 2002MARION -- Dallas W. Fyffe, 60, of Marion died Monday at his home.
The Ironton native was born May 29, 1941, the son of the late Ray K. and Mabel Mae Murnahan Fyffe.
He was the husband of Ann Oakley Fyffe, who survives.
He was a member of the American Legion Post 584 and a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. He was employed at Tecumseh for 17 years and Marion Correctional Institute for 12 years as a correction officer.
He also was preceded in death by one brother, Bob "Barney" Fyffe; and one sister, Charolette Fyffe.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include one son, Don R. Fyffe of Marion; two daughters and sons-in-law, Gloria A. and Rick Hall and Christie N.J. and Ron Brown, all of Marion; four grandchildren; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Bill J. Fyffe of Marion and Paul and Connie Fyffe of Ironton; and three sisters and brothers-in-law, Wilma R. and Paul Walter of Marion and Linda S. and Doug Dodson and Mary A. and Paul Shope, all of Ironton.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Boyd Funeral Home in Marion, with pastor Bill Middleton officiating. Burial will be in Chapel Heights Cemetery, with military graveside rites by the Marion County United Veterans Council. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
