Dec. 25, 1937-May 25, 2002Bessie Marie Russell, 64, of Beaver died Saturday at her home. The Carter County, Ky., native was born Dec. 25, 1937, the daughter of the late James and Eve Yates Lore.

She was the wife of Jimmy E. Russell, who survives.

She was a homemaker and attended Calvary Independent Church. She attended Lyra School in Scioto County.

She also was preceded in death by a son, Mark Russell; a grandson, Mitchell Horner II; one brother, Walter Lore; and one sister.

Survivors, in addition to her husband, include three daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon and Dave Moore of Lucasville, Diana and Mitchell Horner of Oak Hill and Tammy and Jack Hoover of Beaver; three sons and daughters-in-law, Ronnie and Thabiatha Russell of Jackson, Jimmy Lee and Sandra Russell of Oak Hill and Eddie Russell of Oak Hill; 14 grandchildren; five brothers, Louis Lore, Fred Lore, John Lore and Bob Lore, all of St. Mary's, and Earl Lore of Wheelersburg; and four sisters, Minnie Williams and Bertha Williams, both of Lucasville, Ilene Brannigan of Washington Court House and Louise Canter of Minford.

Funeral will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Phillips Funeral Home, with the Rev. Joe Miller officiating. Burial will be in Vernon Furnace Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
