June 25, 1941-May 25, 2002COAL GROVE -- Danny J. Kelly, 60, of Coal Grove went to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 25, at his home.

The Lawrence County native was born June 25, 1941, the son of Lillian Boggs Kelly of Kitts Hill, and the late Rev. Garland Kelly.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Dillon Kelly, whom he married on Feb. 23, 1973.

He was a member of Moore Street Tabernacle in Ashland, Ky., and was a retired locomotive operator and railroad operations trainer for AK Steel Corp., with 42 years of service. He also was a member of the Steel Workers Local Union 1865, and a graduate of Dawson Bryant High school, with the class of 1959.

He also was preceded in death by a step son, Charles Scott Ross.

Survivors, in addition to his mother and wife, include two sons, Danny Joe and Traci Kelly of Bonaire, Ga., and Dave Wayne Kelly of Seattle, Wash.; one daughter and son-in-law, Cynthia and Glen Bennett of Columbus; one step son and step daughter-in-law, Joseph and Teresa Ross of Coal Grove; one step daughter and step son-in-law, Beth and Joe Marshall of Ironton; eight grandchildren; one brother and sister-in-law, Tommy Garland and Kay Kelly of Ironton; and one sister and brother-in-law, Brenda and David Morris of Kitts Hill.

Funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Tracy Brammer Funeral Home, with the Revs. Dale Maddy and Rick Frazer officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Active pallbearers will be Delmar Hewlett, Mike Hewlett, Jerald Hewlett, Ron Barber, Sam Burton, Perry Young, Proctor Lyons and Ashley Lewis. Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Knull, David Whittman, Harry Lyons, Stanley Sammons, Bill Edwards, Gary Stevens, Eugene Kincaid and Tony Wright.
