Edward Webb

Jan. 7, 1925-June 11, 2002Edward Franklin &uot;Friday&uot; Webb, 77, of Ironton, passed away with Tuesday at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital in Russell, Ky.
The Lawrence County native was born Jan. 7, 1925, the son of the late Amos and Nettie Burgraph Hughes Webb.
Mr. Webb was a World War II Army veteran and a former truck driver for Collins Mining Company. He was of the Baptist faith and a lifetime member of the VFW Post #8850, Ironton Eagles and Moose.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Jenkins Webb in 1995.
He is survived by a daughter, Jeanie Webb, of Cincinnati; four sons, Eddie Webb, of Versailles, Ind., and Ronnie Webb, Jesse Webb and Dean Webb, all of Ironton; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a brother, Jesse Webb of Milledgeville, Ga.; and two sisters, Nettie Phillips and Elsie Pennington, both of Springfield.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was also preceded in death by two brothers, Tom and Jimmy Webb.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Phillips Funeral Home with Pastor Dave Schug officiating. Burial will follow in Hanging Rock Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday evening from 6-9 p.m. at the funeral home. Military graveside rites will be provided by the VFW Post #8850.
