Owner of hotel in South Point killed in accident

An area businessman was killed Monday in a two-car accident.
Girish Patel, 59, of Louisa, died in Floyd County, Ky. when another driver apparently fell asleep, crossed the median and collided head-on with Patel's car. He was pronounced dead at the scene by Floyd County Deputy Coroner Greg Nelson.
Patel owned the Best Western Motel in South Point, as well as other area businesses.
