Reunion will bring former St. Joseph, Chesapeake players together Friday

Two old rivals are getting together again after 50 years.
Members of the 1951 and '52 St. Joe Flyers and Chesapeake Panthers will hold an athletic reunion at 7 p.m. Friday at the Grandview Inn of South Point.
The two schools locked up in some outstanding football and basketball games.
Those confirmed attendees for St. Joseph are: Don Miller '51, Tim Rolph '51, Jim "Meat" Compliment '51, Ray "Gabby" Gibson '51, Charles "Buddy" Lawless '51, Joe Gleichauf '52, Larry Dunworth '52, Bill Lawless '52, Fred Lavender '52, Joe Swarts '52, and coach James J. "Bear" Mains.
Lavender has been the organizer of the event.
Those confirmed for Chesapeake are" Dave "Slug" Leffingwell '51, Don Forgey '51, Jack Hunt '51, Merrill Hunt '51, Tom Cooper '53, Tom Wood '52, Ralph Kimball '52, and coach Dave Smith.
A seating arrangement will sit a St. Joe player, then Chesapeake, then St. Joe, etc.
""This might have been tough 50 years ago, but I think we can handle it now," said Lavender.
The evening will be stag and informal. Former players have been asked to bring only their high school annuals or any old clippings for football and basketball.
