A special meeting of the Rock Hill Board of Education last night was put on hold until Monday after a board member fell ill.

Carl Large, 76, collapsed just before the meeting was supposed to have begun. He was taken to Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital for treatment by a Southeast Ohio Emergency Medical Services team shortly after 6 p.m.

Bus driver Garrett McFann said he was speaking with Large in the hallway of Rock Hill High School when Large complained of dizziness. He then collapsed.

A SEOEMS squad was at the school for a junior high football game, which was canceled due to inclement weather.

The board meeting, which was called to discuss insurance and personnel, was rescheduled for 8 a.m. Monday morning.

According to hospital officials, Large was listed in guarded condition this morning.
