Symmes Valley Lady Vikings coach Lisa Bryant is beginning to see some light.

"We are starting to get better with each and every game," Bryant said after the Lady Vikings beat the St. Joseph Female Flyers 41-22 Monday to even their record at 2-2.

"We are still making young mistakes, which I knew would happen early in the season. We had

our opportunities, but with this young team, we have to learn from our mistakes and improve each game," Bryant said.

Anna Bodmer had 12 points, six steals, and three assists for the Lady Vikings. Shauna Rose also had 12 points and pulled down nine rebounds.

Symmes Valley was 20 of 59 from the field for 32 percent, and just 1 of 6 from the line. However, the Lady Vikings had just 13 turnovers.

Christina Harvey had a game-high

16 points for the Female Flyers.

Symmes Valley led just 6-4 at the end of the first quarter. Rose and Bodmer scored 4 points each the second quarter to offset 6 points by Harvey for a 17-12 halftime lead.

The Lady Vikings then outscored St. Joseph 18-4 the third quarter to open up a 35-16 lead.

"Our shots started to fall and our defense created turnovers to help us finally pull away," Bryant said.
