Two vehicles were heavily damaged after a deer-related accident on U.S. 52 Monday morning.
At 9 a.m. Isabelle Wylie of Ironton was driving a white Honda Accord coupe east on U.S. 52 near Delta Lane when a deer ran out in front of her car, Trooper Rob McClelland of the Ohio State Highway Patrol said.
Wylie then lost control of her car, and it went into the median, McClelland said. Wylie's car struck a late-model dark green Ford Excursion driven by Marc Muto of Ona, W.Va., which was headed west on U.S. 52. Muto's vehicle was sent into the median.
McClelland said he was not aware of either drivers' injuries at press time. Both vehicles sustained heavy damage, and the deer Wylie's car struck ran away.
