Ironton Board of Education elects new officers

At its organizational meeting last evening, the Ironton Board of Education elected Teresa Parker as board president, with Robert Pleasant elected vice-president.
The board opted to continue having its regular monthly meetings on the third Thursday of each month, with the exception of January's meeting, which will be Jan. 30 at the Administration Building.
The board also agreed to enter into a contract with Marsh Insurance of Cincinnati for bus and fleet insurance and for building insurance for the year 2003. Marsh Insurance submitted a bid that totaled $61,359 for both types of insurance coverage. The only other bid was submitted by the district's current carrier, Harcum Hyre Insurance of Cincinnati. Harcum Hyre submitted a bid totaling $90,879.
