ROME TOWNSHIP-- A two-car accident in Rome Township yesterday evening has claimed the life of a Crown City man.

Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers said Roger L. Jackson, 48, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Lawrence County Coroner's Office. Loretta Tucker, 44, also of Crown City, was taken to St. Mary's Medical Center where she is listed in stable condition.

Troopers said the accident occurred just after 6:30 p.m. yesterday on State Route 7, two miles south of Crown City. The investigation showed that Tucker's 1998 Chevy 1500 pick-up was traveling south on that roadway, while Jackson's 1994 Nissan Sentra was northbound. Exactly how the crash occurred remains under investigation.
