PEDRO -- All for one, and one for all.

That's the playing style of the Rock Hill Redwomen, and it was working to perfection Saturday as they beat the Chesapeake Lady Panthers 47-24 in a key Ohio Valley Conference game.

Eight different players scored as Rock Hill tied South Point for first place in the Ohio Valley Conference race at 5-1. The Redwomen are 11-3 overall.

Rock Hill hosts South Point Monday, and then, makes a return trip Friday as the third game of a tripleheader along with the boys reserve and varsity games.

"It's a good win and a team effort," Rock Hill coach Bob Wilds said. "The scoring has been pretty even. Lately, we've come together as a unit, and we're sharing the ball pretty well."

Laura Ferrell had 8 points and four rebounds off the bench to spark the win. Marie Bamer had 7 points, four rebounds, three assists and two steals.

Monica Bamer added 6 points and three rebounds while Julie Mootz had 7 points.

Chesapeake (5-12, 4-3) was led by Lisa Perry with 8 points.

Wilds said the Redwomen are playing the style he envisioned early in the season.

"Our defense did a real good job, too," Wilds said. "I thought this was what we were capable. We wanted all nine girls contributing. It was a good win, but we've got a long way to go."

Four different players scored in the first quarter as Rock Hill took a 9-5 lead.

Mootz scored 5 points and Rachel Hartwig 4 in the second quarter as the lead grew to 22-13 at the break.

After Hartwig was injured, Ferrell came off the bench and scored all 8 of her points in the third quarter. The defense held Chesapeake to 5 points again and the margin was now 35-18.

Marie Bamer netted 6 points in the fourth quarter as Rock Hill continued to build on its lead.
