The Lady Pointers are now 6-1 in the conference while Rock Hill is 5-2. The two teams will meet again Friday at South Point as part of a tripleheader.

"Being down 10 at the end of the third quarter and to come back makes this a big one for us," Pointers coach Dave Adams said. "We just created more turnovers and got more possessions the fourth quarter, and we took advantage of it."

Rock Hill (11-4) must play Fairland on Thursday before Friday's rematch. Redwomen coach Bob Wilds said his team must quickly forget the loss.

"We have to keep our heads up. We can help ourselves. We just have to come back and work hard," Wilds said.

South Point (10-6) was led by Jessi Craft with 14 points. Allison Perdue had 12 points and Latisha Koukos had 11 points and eight rebounds.

'We were balanced again. We even had a couple of freshmen who came in and scored a couple of baskets and held it together for us," Adams said. "Perdue had a big game making big plays for us, Jessi Craft had a big game, and Koukos stepped in there with the rebounds. She does a lot of little things."

Miranda Edwards had 12 points and seven steals while Hartwig got 11 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Redwomen.

Hartwig had 8 points in the first quarter as Rock Hill took a 19-14 lead. Craft's 5 points kept the Pointers close.

Edwards had six more point the second quarter as the Redwomen extended their lead to 33-26 at the break.

Julie Mootz had 5 of her 9 points in the third quarter and the Rock Hill lead was now in front 44-34.

South Point then began to mount its comeback in the fourth quarter as Perdue scored 6 points and Rock Hill was able to convert just 7 of 17 free throws.

"We just started turning the ball over and we couldn't hit our free throws," Wilds said. "South Point just turned it up the fourth quarter and we didn't answer."
