Deputy thwarts burglary

An Ona, W.Va., Man was taken into custody early Sunday morning after allegedly forcing his way into a Chesapeake area home.

Stephen Randall Boling, 35, was arrested by Lawrence County Sheriff's

Office deputy Scott White at approximately 12:45 a.m. Sunday. Boling is being held in the Lawrence County Jail, charged with aggravated burglary.

According to reports, Boling allegedly arrived near a residence on Big Branch Road in a taxi cab. Victims at the residence say they were alerted by barking dogs, and then reportedly found Boling in their residence. He allegedly entered the house through a sliding glass door.

Boling was ordered out of the residence by the homeowner, but Boling allegedly refused to leave the property, and then attempted to break into a Jeep parked at the residence. According to reports, deputies located Boling near the Jeep.

Boling was to face arraignment this morning in Lawrence County Municipal Court.
