Inmate walks away from Star center

FRANKLIN FURNACE- Local law enforcement agencies are looking for a Clermont County man who walked away Sunday from an on-site work detail at the Star Community Justice Center.

Michael L. Mason, 38,

was discovered missing shortly after 6 p.m. Sunday, Star Executive Director Dan Hieronimus said. He is believed to have absconded on foot with no apparent accomplices. Mason was serving time at the facility for a third-degree felony charge of unlawful assembly of chemicals.

Mason is described as a white male, 5 feet 10 inches tall, 175 pounds with blue eyes. He is described as balding with a very small patch of short brown hair and a heavy mustache. Mason has several tattoos, including the word "Mason" across his shoulders below the neck, and a tattoo above the left ear that reads "Born Nuts."
