Officials with the Ohio State Board of Education will officially recognize Symmes Valley's "excellent" report card rating at a ceremony Friday afternoon at the elementary school.

Symmes Valley Superintendent Tom Ben said state board member Cyrus Richardson will take part in the ceremony to which parents and the public are invited.

The ceremony will be at 1:15 p.m. Friday.

Symmes Valley was the only district in Lawrence County to receive an "excellent" rating on the 2003 reports that were released in February.
