A Chesapeake man will spend the next three years in prison for a car crash that killed an elderly woman last year.

Lawrence County Common Pleas Judge Richard Walton last week sentenced Timothy Crouch, 26, to three years in prison for aggravated vehicular homicide, a year in prison for possession of criminal tools and one year for aggravated possession of drugs. All of the prison sentences will be served concurrently.

Additionally, Crouch was ordered to pay a $1,250 fine and surrender his driver's license for three years. He was also ordered to pay court costs. Crouch will report to prison Wednesday.

Juanita Moore, 84, of Chesapeake, was killed Nov. 3, 2002 when her car collided with Crouch's car on State Route 7 in Union Township. In a written statement, patrol officers stated that Crouch's car was southbound on that roadway, but was in the northbound lane at the time of the accident. Moore was pronounced dead at the scene.
