HAVERHILL -- Everybody was getting into the act.

The Fairland Dragons had 14 different players collect hits as they downed the St. Joseph Flyers 18-3 Tuesday in a non-league game.

"The last two innings we played our younger kids and they hit the ball really well," Fairland coach Roger Snyder said. "They hit the ball hard and that was pleasant."

Josh Moore got the win and went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead the Dragons. Matt Clark was 2-4, Hill 2-5 with three runs batted in, and Cory Blankenship, Adam Fuller and Moore all doubled.

Kyle Johnson was 2-4 as the Flyers had just four hits.

St. Joseph took a 2-0 lead in the first inning when Kyle Johnson singled home a run and Jeremy Addis grounded out to plate Kurt Jordan.

Fairland tied the game in the second inning, and Moore singled home two runs in a three-run third inning to give the Dragons the lead for good at 5-2.

After getting a run in the fourth, Fairland scored six runs in each the sixth and seventh innings. Hill had a three-run homer in the sixth that helped put the game away.

Despite the loss, Flyers coach Greg Bryant was happy with the performance of starting pitcher Jeremy Addis.

"Addis pitched well for a freshman. He'll be a good one," Bryant said.

Fairland, 5-1, plays at Rock Hill Wednesday in an Ohio Valley Conference game.
