It is not every day we see one gliding past us on the Ohio River, and even rarer when one drops anchor on our riverfront.

This fall the sternwheeler The Chattanooga Star will visit Ironton as part of the state's Bicentennial celebration.

The Chattanooga Star will take part in Cincinnati's annual tall stacks event is mid-October. The Star will begin its Ohio River odyssey in East Liverpool and make 14 stops along the way to Cincinnati. Each port of call is being given a plaque by the Ohio Bicentennial Commission to erect at its riverfront, noting its river history.
