"We just gave up too many walks, and then we came on too late," Ironton coach Beth Freeman said.

Katy Barnett swung the big bat for Ironton as she went 3-4 with three doubles and four runs batted in.

Tracy Mays was 3-5 with two RBI, Maria Frazer 2-5 with a double, Ralene Fitzpatrick 2-4, and Valerie Keating 2-5.

Mays fired a two-hitter the second game and went 2-4 with two RBI as Ironton bounced back to win 8-4. The Lady Tigers had just one error.

"We played good defense and we were on top of the game," Freeman said.

Maria Frazer was 2-4, Teresa Keating 2-4 with a double, Barnett 1-4 and two RBI, and Jenny Belville 1-1.

Ironton, 3-7, hosts Fairland at 5 p.m. Monday.
