PEDRO- A Pedro man is behind bars, charged with domestic violence after an incident at his home Sunday.

Larry Baker, 54, of 13394 State Route 93, was arrested after authorities were called to his home to handle a domestic dispute that allegedly involved a man with a gun.

According to a report from Lawrence County Sheriff's office, a deputy arrived at the Baker residence to find Baker and a woman allegedly wrestling over a shotgun on the front porch. Baker allegedly yelled at a sheriff's deputy, and ordered the deputy to leave his property. He also allegedly refused to put down the shotgun after being asked several times to do so, and then fled to a wooded area behind his house.

The woman allegedly told the deputy that she was trying to get the shotgun away from Baker so he would not shoot the deputy. After other deputies arrived on the scene, Baker turned the weapon over to a neighbor.

A woman at the residence told authorities that Baker had been out of work for more than a year and was unable to obtain medication for depression. The woman said the incident began over an argument with another family member about money.
