A Grayson, Ky., man who was to stand trial last week in connection with a 2002 attempted robbery incident in Kitts Hill failed to appear in court.

Lawrence County Common Pleas Judge Richard Walton ordered a bench warrant for Andrew Young, 21. A bond forfeiture hearing has been scheduled for April 30.

Young is accused of going with his girlfriend, Stephanie Griffith, also of Grayson, Ky., to the home of Keith and Andrea Kirkpatrick in October 2002 to steal a dump truck. Young and Griffith allegedly exchanged fire with the residents who were inside the house at the time of the incident.
