County schools gearing up for prom

It really would not be spring without it --prom season is in full swing throughout Lawrence County.
Ironton High School will have its prom Saturday night, beginning with the grand march at 7 p.m. at the high school. The theme for this year's school social finale will be "A Night to Remember." An after-prom party at Spare Time Recreation will follow the prom and last until 5 a.m.
Dawson-Bryant High School will have its prom Friday night, beginning with the grand march at 7 p.m. at the high school. The theme for this year's prom is "These Are The Times. An after-prom party is scheduled from 1 to 4 a.m. at Spare Time.
St. Joseph High School will also have its prom Friday, beginning with the grand march at
7:30 p.m. at the high school. The prom will follow at the Knights of Columbus Hall. The theme this year is "At Last."
South Point High School will have its prom May 17. The grand march will be at 5:30 p.m. at the high school, and the prom will be from 8 to 11:30 p.m. The theme for the prom will be a surprise. The after-prom party will be from 1 to 5 a.m. at Spare Time.
Chesapeake High School students will have their prom Saturday. The grand march will be from 6 to 7 p.m., with the prom following from 9 p.m. until midnight. The theme for this year's event will be "Tropical Paradise."
For some area students, prom is now just a memory. Symmes Valley and Rock Hill high schools had their proms in April, and Fairland's prom was this past Saturday.
