CHESAPEAKE-- Lawrence County authorities are investigating the death of a 1-year-old Chesapeake boy earlier this week.

"It is being investigated, and the results of that investigation will be forwarded to the Lawrence County Prosecutor's Office for review," Lawrence County Sheriff Tim Sexton said.

Sexton said Shane Wilburn's death was first reported as a bathtub drowning shortly after 6 p.m. Saturday evening. The child was taken by SEOEMS to St. Mary's Hospital in Huntington, W.Va. and then to the West Virginia Medical Examiner's Office for an autopsy. Sexton said the autopsy has been completed.
