Two hurt in crash with fire

ROME TOWNSHIP-

Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers are investigating a one-car accident on LaBelle-Bartramsville Road late Sunday evening that resulted in two injuries.

The accident happened at 10:22 p.m. and the car involved in the accident caught fire as a result of the crash.

Two people were reportedly injured in the accident, and one was taken to Cabell-Huntington Hospital in Huntington, W.Va., for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash. The names of those involved were not available at press time.

It is not yet know what caused the crash or the ensuing car fire.

However, witnesses say the car was traveling south on County Road 70 when the driver lost control of the vehicle and began swerving in the roadway, nearly colliding with another vehicle.

The car then struck a utility pole and burst into flames. The passenger

freed himself from the vehicle and was able to move a safe distance away from it. The driver of the vehicle that was almost hit was able to free the driver while the car was on fire.

Injuries to both parties were unavailable at press time.
