Rollins, Thome key Phillies win

ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) -- Jimmy Rollins and Jim Thome both hit solo home runs in the seventh, and Vicente Padilla threw seven solid innings as the Philadelphia Phillies beat the Anaheim Angels 3-0 Monday night in the first-ever meeting between the teams.

Padilla (5-7) allowed five hits, struck out two and walked none.

Rheal Cormier pitched a scoreless eighth and Jose Mesa pitched a perfect ninth for his 16th save in 19 chances.

Jarrod Washburn (6-6) pitched 7 2-3 innings and allowed three runs on eight hits, including an RBI single in the sixth by Thome.
